I'm sifting through the hand-me-downs lying around here in the shop; I've got an extractor upgrade kit (new spring, "enhancer," and O-ring)....but too I have a D-Fender "d" ring. Can I swap out the upgrade kit's o-ring and use the D-fender d-ring with the new spring and "enhancer?"

Thanks in advance!

I use the 'D' Fender in all my carbines and rifles.

The 'O' ring is cheap and works well. The 'D' Fender will outlast your barrel.

The choice is yours. Can't go wrong wither way.

Thanks. But what I'm asking isn't if the D-Fender is ok, but if it's OK to use WITH the tighter spring and small post "enhancer." Thanks again...!

If this helps, I use standard extractor springs with the D-Fender rings in my rifles.
No enhancers, X-Tra power springs etc.

Well, that does help. I'm tryingh to implement the real world vs. myth here...also wondering if the hop-up kit with the tighter spring and little post, as well as the D-fender, will work together. Won't get to the range till Sat to find out, but if I can save myself a disassembly before I go, that'd be awesome.

Your original question was not clear.

You have extractor upgrade kits, that include the 'O' ring, correct?

You asked if you could substitute the 'D'fender for the 'O' ring, correct?

I told you that this substitution would be fine.

The 'enhancer' as you call it is the extractor spring insert.

Sorry if it wasn't clear - I thought that "swap" the D-ring for O-ring in the hop-up kit would be clear, as the kit includes what the mfg. calls an "enhancer," and you call the insert.

Seems really, really stiff, with almost no play, now.
